ARE YOU IN LOVE WITH YOUR JOB?
You wouldn’t stay with a person you no longer loved so why do we cling to jobs that we haven’t enjoyed for months if not years! You spend the majority of your time at work so working somewhere you feel HEARD, VALUED AND SAFE is incredibly important.
It’s very easy to slip into a routine of complaining about your job but do nothing about it. This could be because you’re worried about making a big change – and changing jobs is a BIG change – but if you’re unhappy you owe it to yourself to find a job that works for you! The most common reason people stay in jobs they don’t love anymore is because they don’t realise quite how much they dislike their jobs until someone points it out or they are forced to confront it. Have a think about some of the signs you need a change below and see if any of them resonate.
YOU HATE MONDAY’S, AND TUESDAY’S AND WEDNE-…
Being a little grumpy/tired after the weekend when you have to go back to bed is to be expected – to an extent. BUT if you find that you’re dreading going to work every day – something’s gone wrong!
YOU’VE OUTGROWN YOUR ROLE
If you get on well with your colleagues and enjoy your workplace culture it can sometimes be tempting to ignore the nagging voice in your head that insists ‘I want more!’ Don’t get stuck in a job that offers no opportunity to progress. Wanting to grow and progress in a role is incredibly normal and if your company can’t accommodate this maybe it’s time to make a change.
YOU DON’T FIT IN
Feeling like you’re not valued or welcome in your office is an excellent reason to look elsewhere. It’s incredibly important to work somewhere that you feel safe and that your opinion/how you feel is heard and valued.
YOU’RE CLOCK WATCHING
If you’re counting down the minutes until you can pack up and leave that’s probably a sign you don’t love your job. Your work should motivate you and be something you enjoy. If the love’s left so should you!
If you’re like me, you spend every Valentine’s day craving chocolate or a nice bouquet from someone special but this year I challenge you to yearn for (and get) a job you love! Get in touch with one of our dedicated consultants now to find out how we can help!
